Why Vattenfall's "One Tonne Future" Campaign with the Swedish Alpine Ski Team Became a Climate Change Success

National Team of Climate – Fossil Free Life Requires Teamwork
Goals and objectives

Temperatures are rising and glaciers are melting. Climate change is no joke. In this unique collaboration, Bonnier News Brand Studio teamed up with client Vattenfall and the Swedish Alpine Ski Team to create a campaign that has all the components of a winner: entertaining, real, inspiring and eye-opening. With climate change and its consequences clearly in our minds, we created a content solution and commercial tv-series that we distributed through our high-reach titles. In the series the Alpine Team get challenged to live more climate-friendly – and at the same time inspire the Swedish people to do the same.

For the Alpine Team, climate change becomes extremely obvious with the switching temperatures – which does the hunt for snow harder and harder. With their traveling lifestyle, they affect the climate more than most, therefore, they decided to halve their climate impact by 2022.

Vattenfall is Sweden’s largest producer of renewable energy, a climate friend and sponsor of the Swedish Alpine Ski Team. They wanted us to put their brand in a new, fresh context, lift their collaboration and help the Alpine Team towards their goal, but also inspire the Swedish people to change their habits for the climate. In addition to this, Vattenfall wanted to market their climate calculating application – OneTonneFuture.
