Evan Benn

Evan Benn is the Senior Director of Special Projects and Communications at The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he develops content and products that advance the organization’s journalism and business objectives. He oversees both external and internal communications for the 197-year-old media company, bringing a strategic, newsroom-informed perspective to how stories are told and how audiences are engaged. A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Evan has built his career as a reporter and editor at the Miami Herald, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and York (Pa.) Dispatch/Sunday News. Before joining The Inquirer, he served as Editor in Chief of INDULGE, the Herald’s award-winning glossy lifestyle magazine. His freelance food and travel writing has appeared in The New York Times, Bon Appétit, Esquire, Travel + Leisure, AFAR, and other major outlets. He is the author of “Brew in the Lou” (2011) and a contributor to the 2023 book “This Is Your Song Too.”
